Fee changes will be announced at least one month before they come into effect. Active clients will be informed via email or in person. The changes will also be posted on this website.

Timing
Fees for Individual Sessions, Couples’ Sessions and Consultation sessions are due before, or at the end of the session, unless otherwise agreed.
Refunds & Cancellations
Individual, Couple & Group Sessions
Should I need to cancel a session, any fees previously paid for that session will be refunded in full or put towards the next booked session, as preferred by the client.
In case of cancellation of a session by the client, at least 24 hours notice via text, email or phone before the scheduled session date is required. Any fees previously paid for that session will be refunded in full or put towards the next booked session, as preferred by the client.
In case of a cancellation of a session by the client which is less than 24 hours notice prior to the session date, or if a client does not show for a scheduled session, the full fee for the session will be charged.
If one of the partners does not show for a scheduled relationship session, the other partner will have the opportunity to attend at the scheduled time for a one-hour one-on-one session. No relationship work will be done if one partner is not present. The full fee for the couple session as scheduled will be charged.
If the client(s) is more than 20 minutes late without notification I reserve the right to cancel the session at full charge. In special circumstances (such as severe illness) individual arrangements may be possible.
Therapist Consultation Sessions
I reserve the right to cancel or reschedule Consultation Sessions before the announced start date. Should such a cancellation be necessary, all paid fees will be refunded in full by cheque or e-transfer within one week after cancellation notice, or held for application to another course or service, as preferred by the participant.
Should a participant wish to cancel their participation in the Consultation Sessions, and makes that known in writing (email to karen@karenguitman.com suffices) at least five business days prior to the announced start date, the fee will be divided amongst the remaining participants or alternatively, the length of the sessions and fee can be adjusted.
Should the cancellation notice for a participant arrive less than five business days before the Consultation Session date, a 20% administrative fee will be assessed and the remainder of the fee will be refunded by cheque or e-transfer within one week after receipt of the cancellation notice.
